Event:
Morrill Memorial Library
Author and former Norwood resident, Daniel Zimmerman, did not set out to write a book about the redemption of Boston mobster, Rocco Balliro. In fact, Zimmerman planned to write the story of his family’s lore: that Balliro had murdered in cold blood Zimmerman’s aunt, Toby Wagner, and her son Marc, on a cold night in 1963. Daniel recounts how he uncovered the real story of what happened in the shoot-out between Boston police and the mob on that night in 1963, and how he came to know the real Rocco Balliro. Copies of Zimmerman’s book, “Shots in the Dark: The Saga of Rocco Balliro,” will be available to purchase at the program.
